I personally believe there is a market for such an inline or possibly transverse box (This posting is to ascertain whether i'm the only one with this view although I know XTrac successfully converted a few transverse Hewland boxes to inline applications a few years back) Gear ratios are virtually limitless (with the drop gear design) although the boxes are either four or five speed designs at the moment. They are not simply a converted 'H' pattern box like the Quaife offering - being designed for the purpose from scratch. These are 'proper' sequential gearboxes with a drop gear design and are very light, compact and strong - 35kgs incl diff for transverse option.
